Information holds almost limitless power to benefit the world. We believe that when people can tap that power, then like super heroes they will use it for good.

We started Inferknow in April 2008 with one simple idea:

You should be able to control the information you consume, and the information that represents you.

That’s our mission. We think it is going to make the world a better place.

Our first software service, Green, pursues that mission by giving you the power to control what happens with the money from the ads you see on the web. When you install Green, you use the power of information -- the ads you see and the money advertisers pay to show them -- to fight global warming.

People

Dave Bargeron

Spent a few years in the Peace Corps in The Gambia, West Africa, teaching math. Then he came home and joined Microsoft Research, where he worked on Machine Learning and Human-Computer Interaction for a decade. Recently he led R&D efforts at a few startups. Somewhere along the line he wrote a bunch of patents and earned a bunch of degrees.

Vijay Chemburkar

Got excited when Dave came to him with a cool idea for how to help people get more out of their information. He joined Inferknow in May of 2008 after spending years working at Amazon.com and a few smaller tech companies. He holds a degree in Computer Science from Stanford.
