Green
July 18th, 2008As promised a few weeks ago when we released the beta ad service, today we are releasing the beta client, and we are calling it ‘Green’. The new Green client will replace all the ads in all the webpages you visit with ads it receives from the Inferknow ad service.
This paves the way for a fundamental shift in the way online advertising works, away from the traditional model where publishers and ad networks decide what ads you are going to see when you visit a webpage, toward a world where you decide what ads you see and what happens with the ad revenue.
As a first foray into this new world, the Green client will use the ad revenue it collects to fund the development of clean energy sources like solar and wind. From this day forward, whenever you browse the web with the Green extension installed, it will completely offset your computer’s carbon footprint. Score +1 for the environment.
